"There is a River whose streams make glad the City of God, the Holy place of the Tabernacle of the Most High."
Psalms 46:4
The concept of a river bringing lifegiving properties, both Physically and Spiritually, is prevalent throughout the scriptures.
It begins with a river flowing through the Garden of Eden and ends with a river flowing through New Jerusalem at the conclusion of the book of Revelation.
Ezekiel and Zechariah talk of a River that flows from Millennial Jerusalem into the Dead sea and reviving it to an abundance of marine life. A second river also flows from Jerusalem, this time into the Mediterranean Sea.
Within that backdrop, the song takes us from the Garden Of Eden where God talked with Adam and Eve to the time of the Millennium and beyond. A joyful time in which there will be no more sorrow or tears.
